The university has joined the network to help maintain its work in supporting young professionals and entrepreneurs from across the East Midlands.
NTU will now receive exposure via Generation Next’s channels and feature in events run for members of the network. Members of NTU’s team will also have access to places on the Generation Next membership service, with employer engagement marketing executive Rebecca Cliff becoming part of the ambassador programme to support its board of “champions”.
Facilitated by East Midlands Chamber, Generation Next runs a series of networking and educational events, led by business leaders across the region, alongside a mentoring scheme and document library, to developing its members’ professional networks and skills.
NTU will also support the new Rising Star category in the Generation Next Awards, which is due to be celebrated on 13 July at a non-traditional ceremony at Bustler Market in Derby. Representatives of its team will take part in the shortlisting of the finalists – due to be announced on 26 April – and in the judging days, taking place online between 9 and 10 May.
The Chamber’s director of resources and Generation Next lead Lucy Robinson said: “We are delighted to welcome NTU on board as a partner of Generation Next.
“The university’s knowledge and expertise will be valuable in helping us achieve our mission to support and retain young talent within the East Midlands region. We are looking forward to building on its already strong partnership with the Chamber.”
NTU has been supporting businesses since 1843, through tailored advice, training, student and graduate talent, facilities and more. Its employability services team (pictured) supports future graduate outcomes by helping employers create talent pipelines and offering solutions to their recruitment needs, while providing new opportunities for NTU students.
Employer engagement marketing executive Rebecca Cliff added: “NTU is a proud patron of East Midlands Chamber. We are incredibly excited to now be joining the Generation Next network of partners, who share our ambitions to champion early careers talent and commitment to enabling successful graduate outcomes for all.
“We look forward to collaborating with the Generation Next team, other partners, champions, ambassadors and members, to explore how NTU can continue to support young professionals’ development and keep talent in the region.”
NTU will join Generation Next’s cohort of partners, including headline partner University of Derby, Nottingham University Business School, Fraser Stretton Property Group, Hardy Signs, Loughborough College, PPL PRS and Express Recruitment, which champion its vision to support and develop young professionals within the East Midlands.
