The Nottingham-based firm will now receive exposure via Generation Next’s channels and feature in events run for members of the network. Members of its team will also have access to places on the Generation Next membership service, with director of people Theo Kirk becoming part of the ambassador programme to support its board of “champions” and taking part as a mentor.
Facilitated by East Midlands Chamber, Generation Next runs a series of networking and educational events, led by business leaders across the region, alongside a mentoring scheme and document library, to develop its members’ professional networks and skills.
Express will also sponsor the Customer Service category in the Generation Next Awards, which is due to be celebrated on 13 July at an alternative awards ceremony at Bustler Market in Derby. Representatives of its team will take part in the shortlisting of the finalists – due to be announced on 26 April – and in the judging days, taking place online between 9 and 10 May.
East Midlands Chamber’s director of resources and Generation Next lead Lucy Robinson said: “It is fantastic to have Express Recruitment join Generation Next as a partner.
“The company has a history of championing its young talent, and Theo has already supported our network through her expertise as a mentor, so we are delighted to work with the team throughout the year.”
With offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, Express Recruitment offers temporary and permanent recruitment services.
For almost 40 years, it has championed young talent, with a strong commitment to its staff, recognising those with the drive to succeed, and in return, providing learning opportunities through apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, industry qualifications among other training options.
Theo added: “Myself and the team closely identified with the ethos of Generation Next from the outset, with two of three directors being young leaders themselves.
“Generation Next needs partner businesses that align with its vision, values and passion for building futures. Like Express, as a self-professed ‘group of forward thinkers’, Generation Next facilitates success in others, in turn making a difference to the young professionals in our region every day.
“Express wanted to be a part of that journey, supporting other young professionals to connect, grow, influence, strive to be whatever they want to be, and achieve whatever they want to achieve – irrespective of preconceived barriers or that inner voice.”
Express will join Generation Next’s cohort of partners, including headline partner University of Derby, Nottingham University Business School, Fraser Stretton Property Group, Hardy Signs, Loughborough College, PPL PRS and Nottingham Trent University, which together champion its vision to support and develop young professionals within the East Midlands.
