The scene was set, the clues were hidden, and the detectives were ready to get to work. Generation Next members swapped business cards for magnifying glasses as they stepped into their roles for our first-ever Murder Mystery Evening, a night of intrigue, teamwork and plenty of laughter.

The event was a perfect blend of light-hearted fun, problem-solving and professional connection, making it the ideal way to celebrate Halloween. As the story unfolded, so did the conversations. Members who had only just met found themselves teaming up to piece together clues, question suspects and follow every twist in the plot. Just when we thought we’d solved the case, another unexpected turn kept everyone guessing!

Beyond the drama, it was an evening that perfectly captured what Generation Next is all about building real connections in a relaxed and creative way. Whether it was chatting between scenes, working together to crack the mystery or simply enjoying the buzz of the evening, the event reminded everyone that networking doesn’t have to feel formal or forced.

Nicole Perkins – our Co Vice Chair:

“The event was a first of its kind for Generation Next and I really hope we’ll be able to run similar ones in the future. It really was networking with a twist, from those personal chats around the table to putting our detective hats on and problem-solving as a team – albeit some only meeting for the first time. A fantastic evening with a fantastic group of young professionals!”

Between the laughter, the lively debates over suspects, and conversations about everything from career goals to the latest in recruitment trends, the night showed how much magic can happen when you mix professional growth with a touch of play.

Generation Next continues to create opportunities for young professionals to learn, connect and grow  and sometimes, solve a mystery or two along the way!
